that's sad. I'm damn sad he's passed away (teenage years spent listening 
to his show yada yada...:)) but i get the impression he could be a 
stubborn old goat sometimes. Maybe his 'charm', he only played what he 
wanted not what others told him was worthwhile. Not sure what they would 
have meant by 'that kind' of music; he played craploads of US guitar 
bands of all descriptions (nirvana session in 88, pixies, sonic youth, 
bastro...)  Maybe it was Guys voice, he wasn't much of a goth fan and 
I've heard Guys voice described that way before (don't hear it myself...)
